today might be the first day we didn’t have visitors. i thought i should probably post one of the MANY client shoots i have yet to share. and i started to, but then somehow i ended up doing this instead and i’m actually okay with that

today you are 20 days old. i won’t say 3 weeks because that just sounds too old.

goodbye August. thank you for teaching me to slow down, accept help from others and just breathe.

p.s. thank you for all the amazing support you all have given us! the gifts and meals and kind words and lovin’ mean more than you know.

i was pretty sure he would never be here. even when i was at the hospital and 7cm along, i still didn’t believe it. but today he is two weeks old and i’m pretty convinced that he is real now. in fact, i’m pretty attached to him. i like him quite a bit. after 14 hours of natural labor and the most incredible water birth i could have ever imagined he is here.at one week i mustered up the energy for his first shoot. my two favorite boys in the world: Bronx Ramsey and his incredibly handsome daddy.7 lbs 15oz and 19 inches of pure sweetness. he smiled thru’ half the session, little ham.his big sisters (aka 2 extra mamas) seriously cannot get over him. i say the best way to describe them is Elmyra from Tiny Toons, “I want to love him, and hug him, and squeeze him…”of all his little parts, my favorite might be his little superman curl cowlick right in the front of his head. if he doesn’t grow out of it, he will probably hate it. i will always love it! it’s funny. with your first baby, you can’t wait for them to sit up, then you want them to hurry and walk, and you are dying to hear them talk. with this third and final baby, we are so free to really appreciate every second of his being small. in fact, BD daddy and I have decided to just try to keep this one a newborn forever. i’ll let you know how that goes

oh, p.s. i take it back. the cowlick is tied for favorite with those wrinkles right there above his right eye. he does his daddy’s signature sarcastic eyebrow raise so much that those lines are still visible even when he’s relaxed.

Benjamin surprised everyone by showing up early. no worries tho, he is healthy, ADORABLE, teensy and full of smiles. i had so much fun with this 5 lb nugget!

i don’t do a lot of open eyed pics with my newbies. they have such a hard time focusing but i couldn’t resist this awesome expression.

ben was so good to us. and by us i mean me and his mama. he gave daddy a hard time, especially when we took off his diaper and he got very comfortable hovering over daddy’s head. i will let you imagine why he is smiling in that pic… and why mallary and i were literally on the floor laughing! oh.my.gosh. hilarious impeccable timing for a mess. kurt gets the award for my most good natured, cooperative dad ever. who else could keep a smile on his face and keep the baby safely balanced long enough for us to gain our composure and take the baby for cleanup?

i had so much fun with you guys and i just wanna eat that sweet pea up. hope you are enjoying his sweet first month as it flies by. thanks for choosing me!

2/11/11 {7 lbs 8.2 oz}today is mitchel’s 2 week birthday! take a peek at our time together on his one week…all his sweet little expressions are priceless!i love that my newbies have such wrinkly feet to grow into, and i love that i get them fresh enough that you can still see their little marks from the heel sticks at the hospital. they are usually new enough to still have their umbilical stump too, which lindsi wanted to have in this session, but someone decided to lose it the night before. mitchel is very precocious. his pictures were slow going in the beginning because he moves so much. when i would set up a shot, he would lift his head up, move it around and wiggle out of place. he did some modified crawling and frog jumping. he obviously missed the memo that now is the time to be super lazy and let everyone exhaust themselves waiting on you hand and foot.

congrats to you both on your perfect little addition! i had a great time hanging with you and hope you are soaking in every amazing exhausting fleeting moment of his first month. please check in with me as he gets bigger and the weather gets warmer. i have a feeling he has a lot more modeling to do

i spent a cold winter morning meeting Lucia and her parents.

for a three month old, she had quite the attention span. either that or she already wants to be a model because she did not take her stunning blue eyes off the camera for very long.

seriously, i adore lucia’s nursery. so many vintage and handmade items. a gorgeous quilt made by family hangs over her crib, which is adorned also with her daddy’s baby blanket and this sweet mint gown was worn by her mama when she was a baby! even the classic Babar canvases on the wall are a blast from the past.

we finally wore her out enough to try a precious tutu and pearls shot. seriously, is there anything more precious than a peaceful sleeping baby?

ok guys, you know i’ve got the baby bug. we don’t know what baby BD is yet, but we do know that there is only one. send me your newborns and twins referrals to hold me off :) 6.5 months to go!

before i met the Keylocks, all their proud friends try to warn me how adorable they all are. seriously, anyone who has ever met them goes on and on about how unbelievably precious they are. how cool to be so loved that your reputation precedes you like that. obviously, a pic is worth a thousand words, but you can see i wasn’t disappointed even their names are cute town: George, William, Finn and now little Evie.

we snuck away for a few shots with just mom and dad with their only girl

and then i got to play legos with the boys while sister got nice and sleepy

i was so happy to finally meet evie and her gang. can’t wait to chase them all outside when it gets nice and warm. thanks to all clare’s friends that gifted her this session. super sweet, and it was a special treat for me too!

that last image will be great for gift certificates. which, by the way, you should all be evangelizing to your friends for me huh? they make great group baby shower gifts and i would love to be booked up with newborns for these slow cold winter months. and… we happened to find out the day after christmas that WE WILL BE GETTING OUR VERY OWN BD NEWBORN {!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!} so i’ve decided to keep my 2010 price, at least through January, in hopes of having a strong first quarter. who knows what the second half of 2011 and my maternity leave will look like so i gotta work it now!

i could probably write a short book about how adorable the mcguffey’s are now +1 i mean they are just SO in love with their baby girl. and why shouldn’t they be? she’s beautiful and a real life dream come true. it’s just so endearing to watch heather gush over her. and to say how cute everything about her is little silly things that sound over the top, but to me, they make heather as cute as hadley. i just love watching a wife turn into a mama. all the new mom hormones in this case seem to be joy, joy and more joy. it’s like heather’s middle name should be joy. oh wait, it already is. i’ll try to leave you now to just enjoy the images. i’ll try not to gush, but no promises…
quick stats gush in case you were wondering. she really is a newborn, only 9 days old here. she’s a big one. 8lb 15oz and 21 1/12 in ok, just gotta say, this next one is all for heather. if you had to pin her down on her very favorite hadley feature, it’s that marshmallow roll arm of hers. so heather, for you…oh, and this last one too. heather is the definition of a sweet tooth. so here’s her newest sweet in a pile of sweets.
