  • You found me! I’m so glad…

    A little about my biz, so you can start stalking ahead of the game:

    It's called BDphotography not only because it rhymes (tho' i am a Suess fan) or because those are my initials, but because they are also the initials of my husband, our two daughters and our son. without them, i'm nothing. they are the reason i do things the way i do. i LOVE photography and everything that comes with it. if i had the leisure i think i might just do it for free. in fact...in my head, that's just what i do. you don't pay for my service, you pay for the time i spend away from my family: planning, traveling, shooting, editing...

    But welcome to the {B}log! stop by often and you can keep up with my most recent adventures in photography, meet my amazing clients, and occasionally take a glimpse into my personal life, because what proud mama can resist a little bragging? i'm sure your family is just as fabulous as mine and the ones you will see here. i bet you actually prefer them to us, but you are biased :) either way, i can't wait to meet them! for now...kick off your shoes, have some more brownies, browse around, and make some silly faces. no one can see, but it's great practice for when i get my lens on you.

drumroll please?  the reising family wins the prize for “furthest traveled for a BD shoot” 

kelly sent me a message from Sacramento, CA {i’m jealous!} a few months ago and said they were coming to see me… and while they were at it they were gonna see some family.  maybe that was the other way around, maybe it wasn’t.  either way, i was flattered and so excited to meet them.-12so this is Eric+Kelly+9 month old Riley.  they are cute huh?!-4-1-2-2can you even imagine starting a little family and your husband being deployed with the air force?  that makes them heroes in my book for sure.-6-10-11-3-9-8-7for the end of the shoot, riley’s cousins stopped by and jumped in a few.  she showed ‘em how to ham it up.-5-1ummmm-18*cutie outtakes*

here is riley helping mama set up her scrabble words-15and here is riley telling us the scrabble series is finished:)-17and my personal favorite: here is the split second where she thought maybe she liked me a little bit. it’s all about capturing the fleeting moments:) -16wish you three safe travels back to the sunny coast and hope you’ll look me up next time you visit OH.  yay for new family traditions!

we are so excited to have her here.  a special thanks to abby and brandon for giving my girls a baby to snuggle and pretend is their own.  they’ve got the baby bug and the davis factory is closed for business.  who could ask for anything sweeter?

SisnamedJen - Gosh! So sweet. I can’t believe she doesn’t have any stretch marks. How in the world does she contain so much baby in that tiny frame!? I am so impressed. What a beautiful girl with such beautiful babies.

so this sweet little couple will soon be known as “The Alexander’s”:)i’m kinda fond of them.  maybe it’s their contagious honest affection for each other.  maybe it’s the fact that we got to play together at the fair the first day i met them.  maybe it’s the cool coincidence that they will wed at the same little church where my dads walked me down the aisle and gave me to the most amazing handsome man ever.  {yes, dads is supposed to be plural. i have a BIG family and lots of parents} ohhhh silly girl emotions, you have high-jacked me again!-3-10-1-2-2-4umm… this is THE cutest to me <3-5-6-7-8{fun behind the scenes tidbit} this no parking scene was interrupted by a little boy who came around the corner of the barn and yelled “ewwwwwwww, gross!!”  LOL we do what we can to embarrass the youth. oh, and am i the only one who i-spies a little heart in derek’s beard?  maybe i’m just drunk on their young love.-9-1

i seriously wish you guys the best.  keep on being easy to respect; it’s not a trait that’s all too abundant in our society.  derek, good luck with your ministry Live Past Life …i’m listening online as i post this. and michelle, keep me posted on that baby making;)

-2just anxious tonight for a new sweet blonde {make that brunette!} baby that will join our family this week.  dear abby makes beautiful babies, and baby do they make her belly grow!  i’ve gotten to spend some time with her the last few days, and lilly already loves me…  i can tell by the way she gives me high fives when i massage abby’s belly;)  check back soon, i may share some more shots of her amazing belly and show you what lilly looks like when she makes her debut.

nothing like a kid to make you realize how time flies.  i met the brock kids a while back and we did a fun energetic shoot in their backyard.  when their mom said she wanted some more pics this year, i realized i was gonna have to come up with something a little more grown up.  they are at that preteen stage where i’m never quite sure if they will appreciate or be offended by my general immaturity and silliness.  when we met {on the hottest morning of the year} last week, i was floored by how much they had changed.  im quite sure they could both be models, and you all know nothing makes my heart flutter like a sweet set of freckles.-2-1-2i often say how glad i am that my girls, being so close in age, both came out girls.  it just seemed to me that they have potential to be closer… sharing clothes and secrets and whatnot.  but then i look at these two and the secrets and unspoken language they share, and i think i probably assumed wrong.  to have a big brother to adore and a little sister to protect; that’s a special dynamic i hadn’t considered. it’s actually one that should last well into adulthood, without the threat of fights over boys…and clothes.:) -1-4-2-4-3↑ artist’s fave ↑-2-2-5

Amy, your two are growing so quickly.  Thanks for allowing me the honor of capturing the journey.  and yes, they well convinced me that they aren’t little kids anymore, but i’m was relieved to see that they would still be kind of silly with me.  after all, no {BD} shoot is complete without  a bit of uncontrollable laughter:)-3-2p.s. speaking of kids growing up too quickly, check out my own little pre-tweens…-1

Amy Brock - Oh, Bridgette~ Amazing work! You are also a wonderful writer… I think I teared up a time or two! I love the pictures! The kids had a great time… heat and all! I can’t wait to see the rest. Loved seeing your two beautiful daughters~they look just like you. They are precious! Thank you for the incredible pictures that have warmed my heart… I will treasure them for a lifetime!
