i can’t tell you how bad i wanted to shoot a pregnant belly session when i drove by and spotted “Your Mama’s” drive thru! of course it had to be the right mama, with an appreciation for my sarcasm. seemed like i had to wait forever, but finally the call came and Heather was my girl.it’s really fun to watch a couple go from dating, to old married couple to expectant parents full of excitement and anticipation.heather’s totally gonna be a {BD} hot mom huh?i’m kind of a big fan of the mcguffeys, more so each time i’m around them. they pulled off the serious shots quite well. but truth be told, we were making jokes and laughing the majority of the time {which makes for a great work day} and most of it was at each other’s expense {which makes me all kinds of comfortable and happy}↑

i’ve had the honor of recording Meadow’s life since she was born. she’s one of THE original {BD}kids and i’m thankful for her loyal mama. looking back at images from her newborn shoot, we’ve grown together really… i can see so much change in my style, composition and artistic quality. but this is more about Meadow! look what a gorgeous little lady she is becoming… having sunflowers this shoot was a very important request, which led me on a wild goose chase for a few weeks. i had a great patch last year to use, but this year apparently the wacky ohio weather pushed things back for farmers. lemons to lemonade though… it led me to find this awesome new location which had a hidden early patch and we had a great time exploring lots of stuff there. only a fraction of it made it to the blog- i have the hardest time narrowing down my faves.meadow was WAY into all the farm animals. i couldn’t believe how up close and friendly she got. they are so fearless before they turn two aren’t they?! we also met the most adorable calf ever that made sarah and i turn vegetarian for the day she found it important to show us her belly it’s really such an honor to be involved in her life this way, capturing memories from each stage and trying to tell the story of who she is for that brief moment. i get to see Meadow a few times a year and i can’t tell you how my heart swells to hear her say my name now-to see her grow leaps and bounds- to get a text from her mama on a wednesday evening that says:

“At this very moment we r in the car and meadow is screaming bridgette at the top of her lungs…I think you have a new admirer =)”

*i have the best job and the sweetest family of clients ever. blessed beyond belief*

we spent the holiday with a bunch of friends at the purple boulder farm in morrow. it was the perfect opportunity to debut BDphotography’s newest offering- The Phunbooth

Terra and the City {{ cincinnati dayton wedding photographer }}

Terra is a beautiful girl, obviously adored by a great group of friends and a very lucky man. This weekend Terra will marry the love of her life {!} but the weekend I had the pleasure to share with her will undoubtedly rank right up there in the memories. Her friends created the ultimate bachelorette day out for her. Their Sex and the City themed celebration included professional make-up, brunch, sushi for those of us brave enough , massages, tearing up a downtown photoshoot, fancy dinner and drinks, a limo and after party. I’m not even sure if that’s the comprehensive list, but those are the things I witnessed or caught wind of Everything was done right. Terra was spoiled, and all the girls are crawling over each other to be the next one married off- both for the happily ever after, but also for the “all about me” day! that’s not to say that they didn’t each get a quick hop into the spotlight during the shoot though. seemed that everyone was ready for their closeup. we had a blast.a little stop at Tiffany’s was a must of course. Terra received a little somethin’ special in a light blue bag

it only takes a few minutes with these girls to see what an awesome relationship they have together. it’s the kind of clique you would love to be adopted into. thanks for letting me feel like an honorary member for a day… and thank you for ALL the excited feedback you gave me. you are SO sweet and now I’m anxiously awaiting the next big celebration you guys have so i have an excuse to create a sequel to our Sex and the City session:)

if you know much about me or our family, you know we love to GO! if you invite us somewhere, we will almost always say yes, especially when it’s somewhere we haven’t been yet. oh, and super especially when you ask me to do a photo shoot and then throw in perks like: room & board, and a day boating on Norris Lake. Are you taking notes? so this is their southern little familyi asked Tyler to find the seat that matched his age. he insisted on this #10 and tried to convince me that he’s way cooler than 9 already, even though his official 10th birthday is not until October. we had a great time exploring downtown Knoxville. i love how each city has unique local treasures. there were some awesome sculptures and shops {still wish i had bought those sweet jeans @ bliss in the market square, darn my consumer practicality!} we even found a veteran’s memorial site which was perfect since it was Memorial Day.

Gavin’s little face graced the front of my business cards once upon a time. Since then we’ve only grown closer, and he’s your typical 2 year old boy, bursting at the seams with energy. We planned a fun day out for his toddler shoot, but first I had to stop by his house so he could show off his new baby brother, Hayes. we planned the awesome theme of “Naked Cowboy on Times Square” and headed to downtown Cincinnati…G preferred the “Splash Bridgette and Run Away Before She Tickles You” themewe both ended up wet somehow the real stuff always ends up way better than the plan. nothing like precious wet baby eyelashes to remind me of that.after we all took our turn singing for pennies, and Gavin had tortured the pigeons enough, we decided check out a few of my other favorite locations

daddy has serious drum skills and on any given Sunday you can find him playing for an audience of hundreds. he thought he’d show him how it’s done, but G looks anything but impressed! ha! our fun day out and this resulting shot will stay strong in my memories. stay tuned… it will be my honor to follow Gavin and Hayes{Gavin 2.0} as they grow into little men. {fun fact} Hayes was the baby incubating in my popular boy inside image seen here

so we’ve all seen that Dove commercial right? the one where it fast forwards the appearance of a woman from beautiful single lady to a worn out used up mama in sweats and ponytail who doesn’t have the time or motivation to even wash her hair…

i feel like that’s what’s expected sometimes. that to be a mom you should put your identity aside and stand last in line behind everyone else’s needs. i just want to remind women of how beautiful they are, as a mom or not, and celebrate our uniqueness. it doesn’t mean that you are self-centered or don’t take care of your family. it just means you have the power to do it ALL and mom isn’t your only name!a little mary poppins action she looks like that iconic cloud that blows out wind. does he have a title? supermom anyone? aside from being gorgeous, an amazing friend, sunday school leader, and wifey, tara is the mom of three lucky blonde girls.oh and you might not guess it from first seeing her at your PTA meeting, but she’s one of the silliest chicks you’ll ever have the pleasure of hanging out with.

i love that halie & kyle remind us that you can celebrate all sorts of life’s milestones with a photo shoot.halie wanted some personal art for their first home together um, i just think this is the most romantic spot ever. i feel like i’m watching a nicholas sparks movie every time i look at at this pic“…love, I’ve come to understand is more than three words mumbled before bedtime.” -Nicholas Sparksthis is actually Kyle’s family land. i can just imagine their grandkids sitting in this same spot, enjoying this image wow, i’m getting way too sentimental. they are still just adorable young kids themselves right?when i first met kyle, he looked so familiar. “who do people say is your celebrity twin?” i asked. “people always say i look like a white Will Smith.”

that is the funniest answer i have ever heard!!! i can totally see it, but i’m gonna go with an improved version of John Mayer. and Halie is just her own brand of gorgeous.

now, if i were choosing which one to hang BIG in the house, it would be this one. i’m just silly like that though.

happy mother’s day to everyone! here’s some 3 1/2 day old sweetness to warm your heart. casey now has three girls to call her mom!and brock… well he’s just got his hands full… of sugar and spice and everything drama i bet for a full 18 years at leastseriously, their story is my very fave of 2009. so it goes something like this:

a warm weekday in august…

1. blake (the oldest) goes off to kindergarten

2. brock goes to final appointment and has vasectomy surgery

3. brock makes it home, recovers in bed. meanwhile, casey comes home, takes a pregnancy test and it’s POSITIVE

4. together they freak out?!!!! laugh hysterically at the irony

5. call friends and family so they can freak out and laugh hysterically at the irony

look how perfect their family is now, plus one. sometimes we think we have a plan or we have some sort of control and we just have no idea how clueless we are
